About Vejibag
Created in 2013 by Sally Erickson, Vejibag is a top seller in eco conscious and zero waste shops across the US. Vejibag was born out of necessity, so they actually work. Sally needed to keep veggies as fresh as possible from the time they were picked in her year-round, Eastport, Maine greenhouse until they were taken home by customers from the local co-op market. And she wanted to do that without creating plastic waste or using toxic chemicals. While conventional plastic bags and boxes suffocate vegetables by trapping stale air and ethylene gas, our damp cotton bag keeps moisture-loving vegetables alive and crisp in a high humidity, breathable environment. Our vegetable storage bags use 100% organic french terry cotton, grown by the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative, and hand sewn by employee-owned Opportunity Threads, in Morganton, North Carolina.
